Library staff take our library experience from good to great.
Whether you need to know where to find a book, learn how to use the computers at the branch,
or do research to find that perfect job, our friendly library staff are here to help you.
To help them stay current on best practices in librarianship, the Friends of the University Heights Library
purchased memberships for the American Library Association, the professional organization for library staff.
We also paid registration fees for them to attend the ALA annual conference.
They learned a lot and are excited to put what they learned into action.

“Thank you to the Friends of the Library for paying my way for the ALA Conference this year. I'd always wanted to be a part of an ALA conference and was finally able to achieve that goal (after 32 years of library employment!). Even though it was "virtual", I was able to attend more of the talks than I would have if I had gone in person, so it was a good thing for me!”
Peggy Goings, Library Assistant III
“I wanted to give a big thank you for sponsoring my ALA membership this year. Not only was I able to attend the ALA Conference (virtually) for the first time, but the membership helps me stay current with the every changing library landscape.”
